WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. -- Vida Maria (Jocys) Glaser, of Woodcliff Lake, died on Sunday, Jan 29. She was 77.
Born in Lithuania, Glaser immigrated to the United States in 1949. She lived in New York for 25 years before moving to New Jersey; she's lived in Woodcliff Lake for the past 43 years.
"She enjoyed sports, but baseball was her favorite," information from the funeral home noted. "She was a loyal New York Mets fan, never missed a game.
"Her other sports passion was bowling. She was quite the player too," the funeral home added. "She received many awards and trophies for her bowling accomplishments."
Glaser was a member of and the treasurer for both the Pascack Mental Health Bowling League and the Fleetwood Bowling League, both in Montvale. She was a parishioner of Our Lady Mother of the Church.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John Glaser; daughter Ramona Glaser; and grandson Christopher Glaser. She was preceded by her daughter, Victoria Glaser.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, Feb., 5, at the Robert Spearing Funeral Home, 155 Kinderkamack Rd., in Park Ridge. The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at Our Lady Mother of the Church, 209 Woodcliff Ave., in Woodcliff Lake. Interment will be in Ascension Cemetery, in Airmont.
